Quality is the result of the coherent conjugation of academic excellence with integral relevance.
The government body with national scope, protected by the Ministry of Higher Education, is the National Accreditation Board (JAN), which has the mission of contributing to the improvement of the quality of Cuban higher education through the development and application of the System of Evaluation and Accreditation of Higher Education (SEAES).
The JAN is made up of a group of prestigious professionals from the different branches of knowledge that come from the different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the country or other organizations.
Aspects that condition the quality of institutions and programs: human resources, infrastructure, curriculum, students, integral relevance and the social impact of the processes.
1. 1198 evaluation and accreditation processes.
2. 29 Institutions have a higher category of accreditation, four stand out for having a category of excellence: University of Havana, Central University Marta Abreu de las Villas, Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría and the University of Oriente.
3.Accredited: 273 IES-careers *, 249 masters, 68 doctorates and 27 postgraduate specialties. * The same career can be taught in several universities and be accredited in some and not in others, so they are considered IES-career.
